Michigan History

Last week, the Charlevoix Elementary Third Graders had Michigan History come to life! Two costumed guides from Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City took the students on a journey through the fur trading and colonial times in Michigan. Students interacted in many hands-on activities including: trading furs, dressing up in colonial costume, starting a fire with flint, dancing, and seeing a musket shot off. Charlevoix Third Graders do a year-long study of Michigan History and enjoyed seeing this meaningful presentation.
