Mock Caldecott Winners

Miss Frank has tallied the results of the CES Mock Caldecott Election for the most distinguished picture book of 2013:

• In third place with 94 votes: The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli! 
• In second place with 101 votes: The Dark by Lemony Snicket and illustrator Jon Klassen! 
• And the winner of the Charlevoix Elementary School Mock Caldecott Election with 165 votes: Mr. Wuffles by David Wiesner! 

K-6 students used their iPads in library class to vote for the books that were nominated by the fourth through sixth grade classes. You can find out more about the nominations at Miss Frank's LibraryTech web page. Check back Monday to find out the ALA medal and honor winners.

Monday: Mr. Wuffles was listed as a Caldecott Honor Book! Locomotive won and Flora and the Flamingo and Journey were the other honor books. The Watermelon Seed was a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor book!
