Reading Events!

There are many fun book and author events coming up this month!

• July 17: Bring the Stop the Summer Slide book you received in June to the park downtown on Thursday, July 17 at 7:00 pm to trade it in for your second book. There is a sticker on the inside cover that must be filled out and signed before trading. In addition, there will also be a Jim Gill Concert at 7:00 pm in East Park! If you can't make it to the concert, trade your book in at the public library starting July 18. Thank you to the Charlevoix Public Library for making this event possible.
• July 19: McLean & Eakin Booksellers is hosting a Monster Bash with author Peter Brown. The event will be at the Carnege Building (the old library) in Petoskey from 10 to noon. Call 347-1180 to reserve a place at this free event. Mr. Brown wrote and illustrated Mr. Tiger Goes Wild and illustrated the Caldecott Honor Book Creepy Carrots. 
• July 30: Another favorite author will be in the area thanks again to McLean & Eakin Booksellers. The author of the Pete the Cat books, Eric Litwin, will be performing from 3 to 5 pm at the Emmet County Fairgrounds. This event is also free and you can make a reservation at 347-1180.
