Shopping at the General Store

Third grade students wrapped up their Laura Ingalls Wilder unit with a country dance and a visit to the general store. A class helper set up a store based on Mr. Olsen's in the Little House series. Student earned "money" to spend at the store during class. Along with the store the students participated in making some of Laura's recipes, creating autograph books, playing old fashioned games, and square dancing.
